Kaiar the Omniscient – Psionic Knight
Kaiar was inducted into the clandestine order of the Psithars only a few weeks after his sixteenth birthday. As a child, he knew himself to be different – the thoughts of others would manifest in his head as if they were his own, and flashes of memories that were never his. Yet he knew to keep such things a secret, even as a child he learnt witchcraft and sorcery was ill looked upon in the quaint monastery he was raised within in Sudd Tohst, and mention of such powers might see him exiled and his path to monkhood halted. Yet by fate, he was joined to those who could help and understand him. A fair woman from fairer lands had visited his town, an explorer she claimed. Yet she was the first person whose mind was guarded from Kaiar, and as surprise entered his thoughts, she turned to him with a warm, yet calculating gaze. Days later she would return from her expedition into the wilderness, though her sole reason for her return was to meet with Kaiar once again, successfully deducing just about every aspect of his life, and the peculiarities he had often felt.
She introduced herself as Violet, the leader of a clandestine group of people who possessed powers similar to Kaiar’s own. He was told that there would be no life for him within his monastery, and one way or another the monks would uncover his secret, and he would be exiled for his shame. Thus she offered him a place in her order, one that would allow him to travel the world, and contribute more than he ever would in a cloistered grove reciting prayers each and every day in a fruitless pursuit for enlightenment. He was already enlightened, he simply needed to let his light shine. Whilst he hesitated at first, he ultimately left with the strange woman, hoping at least for answers, if not a place of belonging.
That was half a lifetime ago. Since then Kaiar has travelled the whole continent of Tharador and even stepped foot on the far land of Edrador. He fought the forces of Hendrak when Dragonblight ravaged Draksborne, and now is sent on his own quest into the depths of Lo Fuin where a new threat has emerged. In the outpost of Zander’s Peril, he found a guide to bring him into the depths beneath the Drow infested swamps, where a traveller from another world had set foot in Minera, bringing blight and ruin to any who came into contact with them. Though Kaiar’s mission was not to kill the traveller, but capture them, if possible. For the ultimate goal of the Psithars has always been to return the race of Men to Terra, and this mysterious traveller may just hold the key to do so.
